Hello! Long time no see.
I hope you enjoyed revisiting some of my favorite editions of MIDDI over the past few months. I decided to take some time away from publishing anything new for two reasons:
We were in the throes of a hellish hunt for a new flat
I frankly wasn’t shopping as much
The point of MIDDI has always been to share products I’ve used before or from brands I trusted. Like many of you, my shopping has slowed down a lot in the past year due to the rising cost of living and a recalibration of my savings goals.
I also wanted to think about the best way to share these recommendations with you going forward, which is why I’ve decided to switch up the posting schedule and format. I plan to continue featuring mid-priced brands, stores and products in new ways to help you plan your gift shopping, travel shopping and just-because shopping.
Keep scrolling for more details about the new MIDDI! Now, let’s kick things off with the latest MIDDI Three …
I am pretty lazy when it comes to my nails, so I like to have some products on hand to help me fake some professionally groomed claws in a flash. Manucurist Active Shine (£16) is my latest find that’s helped my nails look and feel healthier. Two coats of this shimmering, pearlescent (not glittery) polish brightens your nails instantly and over time thanks to the added mixture of antioxidants from beetroot extracts, Hexanal and AHAs. Manucurist is a French brand whose products are all cruelty-free, vegan and made with up to 99% plant-based ingredients. Très chic.
For my Royal Ascot look this year, I went for drama. The second I saw the Sister Jane DREAM Montana Tulle Midi Dress (£185), I knew it was the one, and its soft, light layers made it oh-so comfortable to wear all day at the event. Sadly, the red version is no longer available (they release limited runs of their designs every six weeks), but the blush is just gorgeous. Sister Jane is a West London-based label known for their whimsical party dresses. If you’re someone who wants to have a bit of fun with your formalwear without breaking the bank, check them out.
When you move a lot, you tend to have more than a few glassware casualties. Wanting to get rid of some of our mismatched and chipped pint glasses, I went looking for a simple set that could handle being packed up or knocked over. Whether you’re moving in or clearing things out, this Fable Glassware Set (£122) has four short and four tall glasses to get you started. Made in Japan, Fable’s glasses are lightweight, dishwasher safe and scratch-resistant. They’re obviously not 100% unbreakable, but they’ve held up beautifully and work well with any place setting.
What’s to come …
Welcome back to MIDDI! Going forward, you can expect one product roundup post like this in your inbox each month with three new beauty, fashion and home buys. If there’s a product you’re on the hunt for, let me know!
I’ll still be publishing new editions each week spotlighting individual brands I love and offering up plenty of mid-priced shopping tips as well as guides to some of my favorite locales.
Thanks for being here :)
