The feeling of a great find is hard to beat. When you finally discover that perfect thing you've been searching for, it actually makes you happy to spend the money. The things we surround ourselves with should make us feel good, however we use them, which is why research has always been part of how I shop. I enjoy the hunt, especially when it ends with something that checks every box on my wish list without costing a fortune.
I’m happy to report the products chosen this week made me feel like I'd nailed my particular shopping mission, a simple win I'll take any day of the week. They also happen to literally feel amazing.
Happy hunting!
1. Jordan Samuel Skin The Matinee Gel Cleanser (£11.50 and up)
I've really fallen for Jordan Samuel Skin (previously featured here). And I've fallen out with foaming facial cleansers. The second product I've picked up from this brand is their gel cleanser, which, unlike your typical gel formula, doesn't foam at all. Because it contains some salicylic acid, this makes it more gentle on my skin and better suited for daily use on oily skin like mine. It has a lovely texture, breaks down dirt, makeup and impurities well and rinses away easily. I've also followed it with retinol without any issues.
2. Chaser Graphic Tees ($59 and up)
My daily uniform typically involves a band t-shirt of some kind, and my favorite ones are all from Los Angeles-based line Chaser. These graphic t-shirts are all deliciously soft from the get-go and wash up nicely without losing their shape or fading. They carry a range of artists to suit all tastes as well as tank tops. I've paired these shirts with pretty much everything—satin skirts, denim cutoffs, track pants—they’re comfortable and easy. I need that Elton John t-shirt in my collection ASAP. And Whitney, too.
3. Beddable Bedding (£30.00 and up)
Now that we've broken down and let our puppy sleep in our bed with us, our days of crisp white bedding are officially over. It doesn't matter how well we wipe down his paws before he hops in, traces of London’s dusty streets are always left behind. Searching for a darker bedding set led me to Beddable, whose products are 400 thread count, 100 percent cotton, made in Portugal and insanely soft. I love the rich color and all three of us have been snoozing soundly ever since they arrived.
Something to think about …
Speaking of Sir Elton, I highly recommend his snarky, heartfelt memoir, Me. I've also listened to the audiobook and both are wildly entertaining. What a life.
Last week on MIDDI …
