Finding the right solutions to the issues we face day to day is incredibly personal, which is what makes it so exciting when we get what we need at last. And that help can take many forms. It could be advice from someone you trust or a tangible object that always saves the day. This is one of the reasons I started MIDDI—I love sharing the products I’ve found that solved a problem I was dealing with. I don’t believe in keeping something a secret if I know it could help someone out in a big or small way.
I had been on the hunt for my three picks this week for a while. Each one helps me on a daily basis to feel my best, making them perfect to share in this space. Use them regularly or keep them on hand for an emergency—they’ll swoop in to the rescue whenever you need them.
Help is always welcome.
1. Tower 28 SOS (Save Our Skin) Facial Spray (£26)
I couldn’t be more obsessed with this facial spray from Tower 28. Not really a toner and yet more than a refreshing mist, the key ingredient is hypochlorous acid, which I’d never heard of before. Our white blood cells actually contain hypochlorous acid, which helps to protect the body against inflammation and harmful bacteria. It also calms and soothes the skin, according to the brand, which was founded in 2019 by former beauty executive Amy Liu. I use this spray morning and night after cleansing, and it gets rid of any redness and has helped my skin stay noticeably clearer.
2. Sweaty Betty Commuter Parka (£185)
I have a bit of a Sweaty Betty problem (previously featured here). Everything I've bought from this fitness and athleisure brand, I've loved. But my favorite purchase from them by far is a parka similar to this. Drizzle is often part of the daily forecast for me, but a lightweight, waterproof jacket is a smart buy for everyone. With plenty of pockets to carry essentials, a large hood to keep you shielded from the elements and bungee cords to customize the fit, this jacket is ideal for everything from running errands to hiking. Try this one for a darker color and more oversized fit.
3. Levoit LV600HH Hybrid Ultrasonic Humidifier ($99)
Living in older homes with radiator heating and in areas with lots of pollen, I need a humidifier in my life almost year round. And I really enjoy the different ways you can use this hybrid model from Levoit. It can fill your room with warm or cold mist to your desired humidity level and also allows you to add essential oils for aromatherapy. It’s super quiet with no filter and automatically turns on and off depending on the moisture levels in the air. My only gripe is that the tank has to be lifted off and flipped over to fill, but it’s worth it for softer skin and easier breathing.
Something to think about …
Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom is an incredible documentary about the 2014 Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine that began with the protests of students and lasted 93 days. It’s another testament to the strength and bravery of this country and its people and well worth a watch.
