Our homes are our sanctuaries. They’re the place where (almost) everyone and everything we love can be found. So when giving someone a gift for their home, you want to make sure it’s something they’ll want to keep around year after year, move after move.
My three home picks this week are all meant to do just that: be useful time and time again. And they also happen to look great.

1. Egg Back Home Party Set (£43)
Gifting housewares is all about adding something extra to the recipient’s everyday environment. This adorable set from Portuguese design studio Egg Back Home is a perfect pick for the coffee or tea drinker in your life. Available in six different colors, it includes a medium-sized mug, a milk jug and a small tray for enjoying all of their favorite hot beverages. Each piece is also dishwasher and microwave safe. I have had my eye on their colorful Party Ball Mugs for more than a year now and love how bright and fun all of their designs are—a nice pick-me-up any time of day.
2. Henry Holland Studio Scented Soy Wax Candles (£85)
Another ceramics brand I’ve been admiring for some time now is the eponymous collection by Henry Holland, former creative director of House of Holland. His vases and other household objects all have simple, modern silhouettes featuring bold patterns and colors. I love the candles not only because the scents sound amazing (Take Me With You shown above, along with Green Fingers and Studio 50), but because they’re a two-for-one gift: once the candle is gone, the recipient is left with a gorgeous catchall for small trinkets, jewelry or even candy.
3. ARKET Mesh Dog Harness (£47)
As a dog mom, I’d be remiss if I didn’t include a gift idea for the four-legged loved ones on your list. Scoop has had the same harness for a while now, so I’ve been on the lookout for other stylish options. I was pleased to find one of my favorite Scandi retailers, ARKET (previously featured here), offered a harness that was as eye-catching as it was functional. This harness features breathable mesh padding for comfort, three buckles that make it easy to put on and two hooks for attaching a leash. It’s also available in black.
